The Fourth Annual Chipmunk 5K for ALS
Saturday, February 27, 2010
Start Time: reg 9 am - race 10 am
Nipmuc Regional High School, 90 Pleasant Street, Upton.

Nipmuc Regional High School juniors Jeff Rogers and Conor Reilly, are continuing their brothers' successful charity road race - the Chipmunk 5K for ALS. The boys, have taken over as race directors, as their older brothers, Daniel and Patrick have entered college. “The Fourth Annual" Chipmunk 5K for ALS,” is a race to raise money for The Angel Fund.
The road race will be held on Saturday, February 27, 2010 beginning with registration at 9 a.m. and the race at 10 a.m. at the school.
The 3.1-mile road race has been named “The Chipmunk 5K for ALS” after the successful Jimmy Kennedy “The Squirrel” Memorial Run for ALS held annually in Quincy in memory of Jimmy Kennedy, who died of ALS in 1997 at the age of 31. Daniel Reilly and Patrick Rogers, began the race because they selected this race as a community service project partly because of the Rogers’ family involvement in The Squirrel Run for seven years.
The event begins at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 27th, with a rain/snow date of Sunday, February 28th, with registration at 9 a.m. Race entry is $10, and an application is available by emailing jeffrogers_2795@yahoo.com or www.theangelfund.org
Registrations will also be available on race day. Checks may be made payable to The Angel Fund, and are tax-deductible. You may also register online.
The flat and fast loop course will traverse roads in Upton, beginning and ending at Nipmuc Regional High School, 90 Pleasant Street, Upton. This event is sanctioned by USA Track & Field New England. Awards will be presented. Walkers are welcome. The first 100 participants will receive t-shirts.
The students are donating ALL entry fees to The Angel Fund Several area businesses and organizations have been extremely generous in supporting race costs, and will be recognized on all after-race media materials and t-shirts.
